Where's my nurse? I need some healing...
Jul. 16th, 2008 03:21 pmSome of you may know that my ear has been hurting for quite a while now. At one point it got better but then it started again so today I decided to go to a doctor (finally) 'cause I'm leaving to England for 2 weeks on Sunday and it'd suck if it got even worse again when I'm there.
So anyways, I went to the hospital with my mother 'cause she's working there (the head psychologist, no less lmao) and when the people see another person dressed all in white things tend to move faster. However, I still had to wait over an hour but judging by the amount of people there it really could have been worse. When I got (finally) called, I realized that the doctor was the same one that treated me numerous times before, when I was younger and had problems with ears all the time. He's an Arab and can't really speak Czech much. So he looked into my left ear (the one that hurts) and said that there was nothing wrong. Then he looked into my right ear, which doesn't hurt at all, and stated that that one was in worse condition but that I won't need any medication or anything. At that point I was like 'it fucking hurts like bitch you idiot!!!' but didn't say anything, of course. Then he looked into my mouth and said that if I hadn't been swimming lately the pain was probably caused by my teeth (which I have no problems with). At this point I was too stunned to say anything.
In the end my mother persuaded him to prescribe me some ear drops if it got worse when I'm in England and then he offered to prescribe me the meds I need for my allergies. I mean, wtf? Really, I knew our health care system was fucked up but this is a bit too much.
