Today in a social studies seminar we were playing a 'game'. You were supposed to choose one person in the class and write 2 things and a metaphor that characterize them. I was chosen twice and characterized as friendly, talkative (what??), always willing to help, with no self esteem and intelligent. The one metaphor used was something about that whatever negative people do to me I always try to be positive about it and in dealing with them. And sadly, it was dead on lol I'm kinda surprised how well some of my class mates seem to know me.

Currently, I'm listening to my mother talking on a local radio lol She's a psychologists, quite well-know in her 'field', so they invited her to the radio to talk about divorce and children. It's kinda funny as my parents are divorced for like 2 months now. It's kinda surreal to hear your mother on air=) But it's not like I'd be eager to listen to it, I've  been asked to record it... And as a result, I'm not able to focus on studying which is pretty bad 'cause I'm supposed to learn like 20 pages to literature for tomorrow. At least I've got my mother to blame lol

Well, I'll try to get back to Homer (not Simpson lol), Sappho, Euripides and such=/ Maybe I'll remember something...

*scratches head* Those are metaphors? Am I really that bad at them? Sounds more like adjectives to me...

LoL Yeah, the task was 2 characteristics/adjectives and one metaphor=) I can't remember the metaphors properly and even if I did they probably wouldn't make much sense translated to English. There was something with throwing bread and rocks...erm... So I just wrote the adjectives=) Don't worry, I'm sure you recognize a metaphor when you see one lol

Hopefully I do. I always have problems because I use "like" or "as" way too much. One reason why description is not my friend.

I overuse 'like' as well=) And I totally blame Brad (from LP) for that. Erm, descriptions are good when I read them, not write them=/

I'm 50 times better with dialogue, honestly. Dialogue and action. Or maybe I RP too much.

Hell I use like too much in speech. Mom yells at me for it.

Heh I can't write a decent dialogue to save my life, honestly. If you ever read any of my fics (which you won't, good for you=)) you'd find like 3 lame lines in any of them and that'd be it=) So maybe I was kidding when I said I sucked at descriptions, hm.

And maybe it's some kind of fetish or something (lol) but I love when native speakers overuse 'like' when speaking=) that's probably why I do it as well on those rare occasions when I speak English (:

I don't, I know nothing about Linkin Park except for the music. I've "Encore/Numb" (you know, Jay-Z and LP) stuck in my head now. *hums* Can I get an encore, do you want more...

Yeah, just come to America. Every kid here overuses 'like' and all our teachers yell at us.

Do you write more in English than you speak in Europe? I meant to ask Jamie how much she actually spoke English. You and her write better English than half the kids here do. Better instructors, I guess.

Numb/Encore is pretty good actually, the only song they did with Jay-Z that I like=)

Yep, I'm coming to America!=) Well, maybe I'll go there next summer, we've got some relatives in Atlanta and they keep inviting us...

Erm, well, technically I should speak English in almost every lesson at school as we've got almost all the subjects in English. But it's always like a short answer or a few sentences, so no proper conversation. So I think it's safe to say we do write more than speak. Dunno if taking notes counts, but we write a huge number of essays... Now I've got 3 due the end of November=/

I hate Jay-Z period.

Sweeet. Come visit me. I'm...nowhere close to Georgia but hey! Whatever.

Your lessons are all in English? Interesting. *snorts* you definitely get a proper conversation here. People don't stfu during class. Ever. You either have to smack them or throw them out. What are the essays on? I've to write something about a book for Lit... Due next Tuesday. I barely have time today, tomorrow's Thanksgiving so I won't be able to write after the football game cause I'll be FROZEN and Friday's the day I get to go shopping with over 80 percent of America at 6AM.

Well, we're an "English section" of our high school so yeah, we do have all the important subjects in English. There are like 3 schools like that in the Czech Rep and we're the only one public. So I consider myself kinda lucky to be a part of that=)

Well, one essay is on "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck to English lit=/ the other one to chemistry, "Life without crude oil", eh. The last paper I have is to history on Japan and China. I so do have time to write them AND study=/

Oh, Thanksgiving=) Everyone in the US seems to be crazy about that, but I don't think I'll ever get the purpose of this day lol

Ah, okay. That's cool.

I think I've to read that...not sure. Not looking forward to it, I have to read "A Life of Pi." Get started now! The chem paper doesn't sound too fascinating.

I don't see the point either. The football game between FHS and LHS, no school and turkey. But there had to do with something about Native Americans and pilgrims. I think.
