Lately, my life pretty much sucks. Not that it wouldn't have before but now it's even worse. I dunno what to do first, therefore I don't have much time to write anything here. And if I do I'm too lazy. Well, it's not like anybody minds .

I'm listening to Watcha Clan at the moment and thinking about how cool it'd be to speak French. Guess I'll have to do with Spanish though. God, I couldn't be more random. And I totally need a new tag, "whining", 'cause "ramble" is just not gonna cut it anymore.

I'm thinking about writing a Nixa fic. Nixa meaning Nick Cave/Blixa Bargeld, my new fave pairing. Or maybe not fave, dunno, Bennoda is  too cute.  Well, I should do something, anything.  Maybe write one of the pile of essays I'm supposed to. Oh well.

You don't want to learn French...it's an awful language...actually, so it was taught by an awful teacher of mine. All i got out of French was "j'amour le fromage" and "la grande fromage" and "la glace de chocolat."

Respectively: I love cheese, the big cheese and chocolate ice cream.

See? Useful.

Ha ha ha! Actually I don't like French either, that's why I'm studying Spanish=) But it'd be kinda nice to understand the French songs I listen to=)

Yeah. True. I'd say get the lyrics and put it through an online translator but it wouldn't make any sense...

I like putting random songs into a translator in English, translate it to French and translate it back to English.

For instance, one of my favorite LP songs (Numb if you can't figure it out from the fuck up):

I am made tired to be that you want me to be
Such a faithless feeling lost under the surface
Do not know that you expect of me
Put under the pressure of promenades on foot in your footwear (what the fuck?)
(Caught in the low tide just caught in the low tide)
Every step which I take belongs another error to you
(Caught in the low tide just caught in the low tide)

I became so made numb I cannot smell you there
Tired so so much more aware
I become him all that I want to make
The East resemble me more and resemble you lessI...what?

Can you guess this:

When I made a lot of efforts and arrived at the moment
But at the end, it doesnt matter even
I must have fallen, lost all that
But at the end, it does not matter even

(Okay, so the last line should make it obvious.)

...I get bored, okay?

lmao!! I didn't know you listened to LP=)

The "In the end" lyrics make at least some sense but 'foot in your footwear' is a little bit too much even for me! lol But now I know what to do when I'm bored!

Yeah, I like them. I'm not OBSESSED like you and Jamie are but I had my volume up at the top going down the street last night at 9:30 listening to One Step Closer. In a ghetto neighborhood. Smart.

Not where huge guys with guns and drugs might hang you upside down and rape you! It's not ice cream they consume there! End of story.

Just ask Leticia, she'll say I'll fight all huge guys and guns and drugs to get my frosty.

I'm thinking about writing a Nixa fic.

You already know my feelings on this. (Do it, do it!)

French is actually a relatively easy language to learn, considering its sentence structure is almost exactly the same as English. Many words are similar, too -- though I s'pose if you don't like it, you're not gonna get very far. Least there aren't case endings to worry about...

well, I do have an idea but I've got so much shit to do... Maybe in December it'll get better *hopeful* And I'm pretty sure I'd need a beta. I'd love you for eternity if you knew about somebody willing to beta a Nixa (shit)fic sometime in hopefully near future=) but I don't wanna bother you or anything so if not it's okay!

Well, I'm doing Spanish and it's pretty much similar to French as well but somehow I don't think I'll ever get to learning it. Next language I wanna try is Japan lol

You know, just about any other point in time I would jump at the chance to beta a Nixa fic -- I've done a fair share of betaing myself and even worked part time in an editing business, and there's nothing I would love more than to get first dibs on reading some new Nixa. &hearts But I'm leaving for Germany on December 7th and don't get back till late February, and I don't know how reliable my internet access is going to be over that time.

God hates me, he really does!

I have a few regular betas of my own but unfortunately I think they only do Harry Potter/House stuff and most of them are pretty busy at the moment. Good luck with writing it though!

I've always wanted to learn Spanish but I've only ever managed French, German and half a side of my "Teach Yourself Italian" cassette tape (don't laugh!). Sometimes I watch movies with Spanish subtitles but that hasn't really worked so far...

Oh Germany, pity Blixa (and I was totally gonna write Nixa) doesn't live there anymore=) I'd love to visit Berlin one day, it's kinda funny (or maybe rather sad) Germany is my neighbouring(??) country and I've never been there=/

And it's okay! I don't have any beta for my LP fics but I think it'd be convenient to get one for any possible Nick!fics. Besides, I've got a feeling I won't be writing anything till February anyways, with the amount of school stuff I have these days=/

Well, I'm glad I somehow managed English=) Spanish is pretty cool actually but I've been doing it for 3 years only so the results aren't spectacular (yet!)=) And I'm really, and I mean really, jealous of people whose first language is English! You're so lucky=)

I'm not gonna laugh at your 'Italian' cassette, I actually admire you for speaking 4 world languages=) And I should really stop rambling...*blush*

Gah, I know! Mind you, it's probably good that Blixa doesn't live there anymore or I'd spend the whole time trolling around looking for him. But with him not being in the Bad Seeds anymore and not living in Germany, I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever get a chance to see him in concert or anything - I don't think NZ is on Einstürzende Neubauten's tour list. Ha ha.

Your English is perfect. Me = thoroughly impressed. You needn't be jealous -- it took me a while to realise English wasn't even your first language! It's a lot better than a lot of people I know, too. Native English speakers are really lazy.

When I'm less busy, I'm going to have to read some of your LP fic. I love, love, love LP but I don't think I've ever read a single piece of fan fiction, so it's a whole new ball game for me! How exciting!

I wouldn't say I "speak" for world languages -- "bumble along" is probably a better term. :D With flawless English and three years of Spanish I'm sure you'd outdo me...

From: [identity profile] barush.livejournal.com
Oh, wow, thanks *blush* My English is hardly perfect, but it really means a lot, hearing it from you=) I know some native speakers are kinda lazy, as I got to speak to quite a lot of them lol But it's understandable, my Czech probably sucks even more than my English=)

Oh, you love LP but have never read any fic?? Well, then I'm gonna direct you to www.lpfiction.com =) Be sure to check it out when you have time 'cause I'd say it's the best LP fiction site on the net and I'd rec some of the pieces there to anybody, regardless the fandom. There are a few brilliant authors, don't waste your precious time reading anything mine!=)

Still, you must be pretty talented to speak French AND German, as those 2 are very difficult languages from what I've heard=) I'd love to speak more than 3 one day, but there's a lot of time *purposefully not mentions her age as some people don't like talking to youngsters* *ahem*

Accidentally pressed "leave a comment" instead of "reply" above. *headdesk* Me = FTL.

English speakers are also almost never as motivated to learn other languages, which is such a crime. Thousands and thousands of people you have the potential to communicate with here, people!

Thanks for the link! I've forbidden myself from any fanfic reading until I'm finished with all my fic exchanges for the year, but I'll be sure to check that site out. This is a much more normal way of going about things -- a few times I've gotten into a band because I've read fanfiction about them. Certainly hard to explain to people how I heard of them... ;)

German is only difficult cause it's not that similar to English in its structure, but French is relatively easy for most English speakers, I think. I want to learn as many languages as I can! I spent about six years learning Maori only to think, "WTF why am I learning this? No one except for New Zealanders speak it, and they can all speak English anyway!"

Youngsters? Heh! I'm only a year older than you are according to your LPfiction profile, and if that's old then we might even be the same! But I know what you mean - you start talking to someone and mention your age and they immediately write you off. As if older people aren't just as friggin stupid sometimes...

From: [identity profile] barush.livejournal.com
oh good! Honestly, it wouldn't be the first time when somebody stopped talking to me just when I mentioned I was 17...=/ I'm 18 in March *random*

Wow, you're even cooler than I've thought lol I've heard a lot about Maori but I'd never think about learning it! Although, same as you, I wanna speak as many languages as possible, I'm weird like that=) Or at least lot of people tell me so.

Well, as soon as you finish all your writing, be sure to head to lpfiction.com right away 'cause it's totally worth it=)

Because I suck at time zones I dunno what time you have, but somehow I've realized it's 12.22am and I'm getting up at 6am so I'd better shuffle off to bed or else I'll fall asleep at school tomorrow=/

It's been awesome talking to you though! Hope to repeat it sometime in the future=)

One thirty in the afternoon, here. I'll not be going to bed for at least another fourteen hours, I shouldn't say, so hopefully we can talk again soon! :-) Sleep well.
