I've just got back from a post office, where I picked up "Voyeur" by Alberto Moravia. Yes, another book lol Anyways, when I was already there I thought I might as well send the DVD I've promised to my beloved [profile] sadistic_bella. I've wanted go there for ages but I didn't know how much it would cost to send a package to Greece, so I had to wait until I had some decent amount of money to pay for the book AND the sending of the package. But why I'm talking about this... It got to the point when I started to even dream about it! This night I had a dream I was at the post office to send it and they told me it would cost 2600 CZK. Which is a ridiculous amount of money since a normal stamp in here costs 10 CZK. I remember being so upset lol So in the end I told them I'd bring the money later because I needed to go and draw money from my bank account. I mean, my dream bank account 'cause in real life I don't own that much money lol I dunno how it ended 'cause then I woke up. Weird dream I tell you=)

Um, in reality, it cost much much less than in the dream (thank God lol). So now I can only hope she'll actually get it lol

You think that's bad, try imagining the prices for things from America to Greece. I asked a FedEx dude how much it'd cost to send a poster to Greece (for her name day, you know) and he looks it up: "Well if you want it sent in two days, it's 99 dollars." (
1,871.86 CZK, mind you, I looked it up *freak*)

What the FUCK? Do they put it on the red eye fastest plane available in the US or something?! I guess average is 26 dollars, which I don't have. And I don't want to risk the normal mail because chances are it'd get lost somewhere over the Atlantic or end up in your country or in Iceland. (And I hadn't even bought the thing yet.)

I think it'd be less expensive if I took a flight to Greece and hand delivered it.

Don't send anything that you'll have to pay for! You can't spend the money you need for college on weird orthodox name days! After all, it's the thought that counts really. I mean, my friends stated that they don't want to buy me a present. lol

I LIKE weird orthodox name days.

I decided I'll just do it for Christmas. And hope they don't jack up the fucking prices.

Yeah, I know the shipping prices from US to Europe are ridiculous... I've wanted to buy some Nick Cave poster on ebay but it would cost like 10 times more than the poster itself... Guess I'll have to go on staring at my PC screen=)

I wanted to get something from Europe...well, England to be exact, but I can't understand pounds to save my life and I was like, "Is that a LOT for shipping?" I had to just...guess "yes."
