I need to read a whole fucking book in probably a day and a half 'cause I'm so fucking lazy. It's 'Lucky Jim' by Kingsley Amis, I need to read it English but the language is kinda weird and difficult (as it was written in 1950s or smt) so I guess I'll end up reading it just for the sake of reading it and won't remember anything anyways. God, sometimes I really wanna slap myself 'cause I'd totally deserve it *sigh*

When I take a break from the damn book (which will be soon, I assume) I might post a lengthy rant or might dig up some Bradford pics and post at least a couple 'cause I think you guys deserve to see them for putting up with me when I was ranting 24/7 about it. But, knowing myself, I won't promise anything.

See I love reading but schools never pick good books to read, maybe if they did more people would enjoy the pass time. Sucks that they are making you read it, you never know it may end up being good... I doubt it but you never know. Good luck :)

Well the problem is I've had like 3 months to read it *facepalm* Laziness is a bitch. And I'll see about posting the pics, if I'm in a mood... lol

And btw have I sent you 'Moonshower and Razorblades' by Sunz? I'm not sure now, but if I haven't remind me to send it sometime =)

Good luck. I haven't read an English book in ages (literally) and everytime I'm reading something longer in E on internet, I seriously "feel" it. I should take my 'Bono' book and get through those political shit he has said and finally practice my vocabulary!

I don't care if you think me a nerd now *g*, but who's the author of the book? I'm very interested in books written in a weird english...

Thumbs up! Drink some coffee, slap yourself once or twice and you'll have it done in no time ;)

Yeah, same here, I'm a bookworm but obligatory reading makes everyone tired of the books they must read. In this case though, I'd known the book was terrible even before they even told us to read, so...

Well, I'm reading in English almost all the time (fan fics and books too) so that's not the main problem. But this book is just so terrible it can't be even described with words. I know I won't be able to finish it time now, eh. And good luck with reading Bono, I probably wouldn't subject myself to that lol

Well, as I've said, it's 'Lucky Jim' by Kingsley Amis. Don't read it though, it's really not good at all. If you wanna read a book with weird Language go for 'A Clockwork Orange' by Anthony Burgess. It's one of my fave books ever. The author actually invented his own slang, using words from Russian mainly. It's hard to get into but once you do it's beyond awesome. And then watch the movie, if you haven't already=) Oh and the ultimate winner in weird/fucking difficult/old English is Nick Cave with his 'And The Ass Saw The Angel'. Seriously, it's bleak and gloomy and he deliberately uses difficult words and makes it sound like a few hundreds years old prose. Difficult but intriguing read. I totally loved it.

Ah yeah... still haven't read that one :-/ For such books I've read 'Oryx and Crake', '1984'... but 'Clockwork Orange', not yet. Though I still want to cause the movie intrigues me a lot!

I do KNOW your icon is from the movie XD Let's say I loved the movie and it was nicely disturbing,... especially as they ripped apart the clothes of the woman and the protagonist gave some poetical chitchat about the straightness with which he ripped apart the woman's clothing, or something. Yeah.

I definitely did watch it but I think reading is another experience totally. Reading goes much more under my skin.
